Free MetaStock data feed from Yahoo, free historical data download for MetaStock. Quotelf and MS Downloader can only download about the past 15 years data maximum. Daily updates for indices has no volume information. Actually, Yahoo provides two distinct methods for downloading quotes that we are aware of.
Example 1. Suppose you need to download Mutual Fund : RS EMERGING GWTH (Metastock symbol : #RSEGX) Should we worry that Yahoo's ticker (RSEGX) differs from Metastock's one? In theory, yes. But Quotelf Center is smart enough and makes auto aliasing in this case. In other words, it will understand that you try to download RSEGX from Yahoo but return to Metastock under #RSEGX name. The same occurs with Bulletin Board symbols (ending with '-BB' in Metastock) These are automatically aliased as '.OB' symbols. This makes the program very user friendly. Also, you could simply change the ticker in Metastock Downloader from #RSEGX to RSEGX ,e.g.

You may easily use data downloaded with Historical Quotes Downloader with MetaStock
software. You will have to convert data from ASCII format into MetaStock format
using a free software from Equis International, MetaStock Downloader available
at http://www.equis.com/free/downloader-rtd/download.html
You will have to download and install MetaStock Downloader if you need stock
quotes in MetaStock format; MetaStock Downloader will do data conversion.
First of all make sure that you are using Historical Quotes Downloader version
1.21 or later. Start Historical Quotes Downloader and follow the steps below:
1) On "Download Settings" tab check "MetaStock" checkbox.
2) Open a symbol list file or add symbols and download historical stock quotes
for them
3) Now run Metastock Downloader and select "Tools" - > "Convert"
. A conversion dialog shown below will appear.
Click "Destination Tab" Choose whether you want to append data to
existing MetaStock files or overwrite them and set the rest of the options as
shown below. Click "Apply" and "Ok" in the "Convert
Securities" dialog.

Please find the following updated indexes for our MetaStock Pro and EOD manuals. Please note that there were two separate printings for each manual. In order to ensure that you are getting the corrected index for the manual that you have, please reference the beginning page of the index that you currently have. In the MetaStock 8.0 EOD manual, your index will either start on page 517 or 519. In the MetaStock 8.0 Pro manual, your index will either start on page 551 or 553. For example, if you have the MetaStock 8.0 EOD program and the index at the back of your manual starts at page 517, you'll want to use the UpdatedIndex_EOD_517.pdf file.

This patch will upgrade anyone using MetaStock Professional 7.01
When opening an online intraday security, users could receive the message "Attempt to communicate with online vendor failed." This was most noticeable using 30 minute or more periodicity or Forex symbols.
This patch will not work with MetaStock Professional 7.0. If you are running MetaStock Professional 7.0 then you will need to upgrade to MetaStock Professional 7.01 or later. To find out if you own this version choose About from the MetaStock Help menu.
Close down all MetaStock Professional programs including File Server and Data Server. Download the file and double-click on it. The patch will install automatically.
This Patch will patch open files. If you inadvertently apply this patch while the Equis Data Server and the Equis File Server are running the patch will continue and tell you that you must reboot for the changes to take affect. When you reboot the files that were open will be updated. Note: If you do not reboot and try to run MetaStock Professional, it will not run correctly.
